SUMMARY Political history of Ukraine-Rus in time of transformation of the Ruricovich5S empire (12th century)

Kyjivan Rus under Iaroslav the Wise was an empire. It joined more than 20 ethnoses. Its decay was began towards the end 1 Ith c.Volodymyr Monomach was able to hamper this proces through creation the common front of all lands against the polovtsians.
Partial stabilization and stagnation of the empire took place. But already Mstyslav the Great resisted hardly for the centrifugal powers. Under Iaropolk decline of the empire began. It transformated in the federation of the lands. The federative character of Rus wholly defined under Vsevolod. But federation was not stable, it had strong empire’s survivals. Therefore the Great Home War continued in 1146-1154 y. The federation suffered a crash, its parts separated so on. Under Rostyslav Rus changed into confederation of the principalities. In every land independed dynasty governed.Mutual dependence of the lands diminished. The wars between the lands don’t make possible to say about federation. The confederation included 4 parts: Ukraine-Rus (5 large principalities, which were pounding on the small domains), Suzdal (Ryazan and Murom were gravitating towards it),saint Sophia’s republice (Novgorod) and Polock-Minsk’s land. Smolensk’s land engaged intermediate place. It sided with anyone part. In all parts began consolidation. In Ukraine-Rus duumvirat OfSviatoslav ahd Ruric ensured this ConsolidatiomTowards the end XII c. Ukraine-Rus evolved to monarchy, that caused the war 1194 - 1196 y. Especially the war made weak the lands over Dnipro. After that Volynian land mounted on the first plan. Roman the Volynian connected in 1199 y. Galych, established control over Kyjiv and Pereyaslav in 1202 y. Creation of the ethnoteritorial state on the Ukrainian ethnic lands needed to connect Chemigiv-Siverian lands too. Accidental death of Roman prevented to it.But evolution of Rus from the empire through the federation and the confederation to the system of the independed states wasn’t accidental. It had many causes. There were next development of ost-slavonic nationalities, wich struggled for own stateship, and changing in geopolitical and geoeconomical situation of Rus as a result of crusades, decline of yzantion, prosperity of the catholic states.
